Keurig One Cup Coffee Maker

An Overview

Keurig One Cup Coffee Maker

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world, consumed daily in large quantities by many people worldwide. With all of the coffee drinkers that there are, companies have risen up to provide them with a variety of different drinking experiences. Keurig Brewers are one of these companies.

Founded in 1992, Keurig Brewers are based in Reading, Massachusetts as a coffee machine manufacturing company. In 2006 they became a subsidiary of the well-known Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and they are now best known for their famous K-Cup single serving Brewery system and are a large presence within the North American beverage market.
Keurig has developed a range of one cup coffee machines. These are all designed to quickly brew a single cup of not only coffee, but other drinks such as tea and hot chocolate.  The consumer can purchase these in single prepared containers. These containers are the “K-Cups”.

When the user wants a drink, they just simply insert a K-Cup into the one cup coffee maker, place a mug under the spout and press go. The delicious beverage is ready in less than a minute. It is also possible to use the machine to dispense a cup of hot water in order to prepare a drink that is not part of the K-Cup range.

The Keurig one cup machine works by using a spray nozzle to pierce the foil seal at the top of the plastic K-Cup. At the same time, a discharge nozzle is used to pierce the bottom of the container. Inside the K-Cup, the grounds or powder are already inside a paper filter. The machine then forces a measured amount of boiling water (89°C) into the cup and through the filter, into the mug that is waiting below.

There are several different Keurig One Cup Coffee Makers available on the market to meet your needs at home. There are also some industrial models available for use in the workplace.

The main difference between the home models and the machines intended for the workplace is that the industrial models are designed to remove the used K-Cups from the receptacle automatically and place it into a bin section of the machine. With the home models, you need to manually remove the K-Cup before you can use the machine again.

Another difference between the two is that the industrial models are sometimes able to be connected to a supply of water, removing the need to fill the machine every time you want a drink. Owners of the smaller home machines of course, need to refill the machine themselves each time.

Some of the models of coffee makers for the home include:

K-Cups come in a large variety of drinks and brands to fill your needs. Keurig has connected with many other brewers, tea makers and other makers of beverages to provide K-Cup versions of their own products.

They also provide a non-disposable K-Cup with a reusable filter so that owners of a Keurig One Cup Coffee Maker can use their machine to create delicious coffee using their own coffee grounds. This enables the user to not have to buy a new K-Cup each time they want a drink and is also more environmentally friendlier than the disposable plastic K-Cups are.
